Chain-of-custody certification provides a guarantee that the products used are FSC-certified. Chain-of-custody is the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.

The purchase and use of FSC-certified paper and products contributes to conservation and responsible forest management. It sends the message that you and your company care about the earth’s future and you greatly value its resources.

The first step is to decide you would like to print your next project with the FSC Certification. Baltimore Color Plate then helps you choose which FSC-certified paper is best for your project. BCP will provide the appropriate FSC logo to be used and a pdf of the project would be created. BCP will submit the pdf to SmartWood, the certifying organization, including paper usage and project type, for final approval before printing.
If you need additional information concerning FSC projects or are not sure how to present this to your client, we are glad to help. Please contact us at 800.879.2271 or 410.823.9300.
